According to the global requirements, you’ll have to meet the language standards. Two well-known language proficiency tests that are accepted by colleges, companies, and immigration agencies all around the world are IELTS (International English Language Testing System) and PTE (Pearson Test of English).

Similarities
Both the IELTS and PTE are the global evaluation of effective English communication. In both of the tests hearing, reading, writing and speaking portions are separated with varied markings. They are MCQs in the listening and reading portions, while the writing component has activities like drafting essays, letters or reports. The speaking portion of each test requires the test takers to converse with the examiner or system on a variety of topics.
IELTS/PTE is the globally accepted language not only by universities/colleges but also by different companies too.
Differences
IELTS and PTE have quite different formats. Whereas PTE is a computer-based test that requires speaking into a microphone and hearing through headphones, IELTS is a paper-based test that comprises in-person speaking interviews. The listening and reading portions of the PTE are performed on a computer screen, while those of the IELTS are taken on paper. Both examinations have a writing portion that must be completed on paper.
The scoring mechanism is another key distinction between IELTS and PTE. IELTS scores are given in increments of 0.5 from 0 to 9. Scores on the PTE range from 10 to 90. PTE scores are determined using an algorithm, whereas IELTS scores are determined using a band scoring method.
In contrast to the speaking portion of the PTE, which is recorded and evaluated by a computer program, the speaking portion of the IELTS is performed by an examiner in person. IELTS test takers’ proficiency in communication, which includes their pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, and fluency, is evaluated by the examiner. In the PTE, these same criteria are assessed by the computer system form of the test taker’s responses.
PTE only offers one version, but IELTS has two: Academic and General Training. Whereas the General Training version of IELTS is intended for those looking to work or immigrate to an English-speaking nation, the Academic version is for those looking to study at the undergraduate or graduate level. Both academic and non-academic uses are intended for PTE.
